Because of God’s treat and the
promised female treat against him, satin fears nothing more than
women moving in power of the Holy Spirit and men working in
partnership alongside them. As a result, whether the division among
the genders is the result of cultural, social, or religious beliefs,
it is very real.
In reality, the world as a whole is
filled with cultures that see females as lowest form of the human
species. In some cultures it is alright to kill ones wife, if she
fails in any way to fulfill a man’s expectations. In some cultures,
woman are set on fire, or killed outright, simple by failing to
provide a proper marriage dowry. In some cultures, female babies are
left to die, because more values is seen in a male child.
Cultural conception of how a woman
should be treated, as well as her value as a human being, has been
warped by what happened in the Garden. It does matter what their
religious preferences are, human beings are still being affected by
the sins of Adam and Eve. Since the fall, satins been working hard to
destroy women, the “Givers of Life”. But more to the point, he
has been working hard to keep men from being the “Protectors of
Life”. This can be seen worldwide, as men use sexual (rape),
physical and spiritual abuse in an endeavor to keep the female gender
in her place.
Christians have not been exempt from satins influence. Both male
and female, have been blinded to his influence with in the Church.
Nor do they understand as a whole that the division between the
genders is not simple resolved through blame, or control. Nor is it
resolved by doctrinal beliefs that are designed to keep women in
their place.
More
often than they care to admit, Christian men have not been known to
be as loving towards their mates, or accepting as Jesus was towards
the woman that are a part of the Body of Christ. As Christian men who
love the Lord, they should be willing to lay aside their cultural
bigotry against women; the problem is that this kind of prejudice has
been so ingrained into the male mind since childhood, that it is not
as easy as it may seem to change the direction of their thinking. For
in order to change the direction of our own thinking, let alone a
man’s, we first have to recognize that we have a problem in the
first place.
On other hand, women themselves
have been affected by cultural stigmas about their place with in the
home, and the church. So as a whole, we either bow to “male”
authority or we lash out in protest. And once again, the way we react
is going to be based on the culture that we come from, even if we are
Children of God.
As a whole the gender division has
flowed over into our children’s lives. Young girls are not taught
the value of being Godly women of gentleness and love. And young boys
are not being taught the value of being a loving male. The family
unit, as a whole is unbalanced. As wives many women no longer see
themselves as the “Givers of Life” despite being mothers and the
men no longer see themselves as the “Protectors of Life” despite
being fathers.
